Our Town Projects

Our Home Repair Ministry is a unique service that provides needed, non-cosmetic home repairs for low income homeowners, who put in “sweat equity” hours and pay a reduced cost for these repairs. Without this ministry, these homeowners would not be able to afford these life-changing repairs.

Below are some "Our Town Projects" that homeowners have requested to be completed by Maumee Valley Habitat, their volunteers, and their donors. 	Project: 003 — Mrs. J Home Repairs Urgency: High Est. Cost: $8,312.23 1. Roof: needs proper flashing and the damaged interior patched. 2. Siding: back of house needs covering to prevent further damage. 3. Porch ceiling: damaged areas that can be fixed at a small cost. 4. Foundation: can be secured at minimal cost. 5. Gutters & downspouts: needs to be secured.

	Project: 005 — Mrs. R Home Repair Urgency: Medium Est. Cost: $9,382.23 1. Roof: is a tear-off. 2. Back door: needs to be replaced and storm door reset. 3. Bathroom: repair faucet leak and make repairs to walls and ceiling. 4. Foundation: is deteriorating and needs tip-pointing. 5. Stairs: some treads are loose and need to be replaced.

	Project: 006 — Mr. M Home Repair Urgency: Medium Est. Cost: $450.37 1. Railing: the porch railing is loose and needs to be secure. 2. Downspouts: needs to be extended away from the house. 3. Door: the front door needs weather-stripping and the jamb needs to be repaired. 4. Soffit: part of the soffit is loose and needs to be reattached.

	Project: 007 — Mrs. H Home Repair Urgency: Medium Est. Cost: $4058.56 1. Roof: Total tear-off, re-sheet and re-shingle. 2. Ceiling: Patching holes in inner ceiling. 3. Porch: The supporting beam and columns needs to be replaced. 4. Plumbing: The toilet is leaking and needs to be fixed or replaced.

	Project: 008 — Mrs. V Home Repair Urgency: Medium Est. Cost: $2470.30 1. Gutters: The gutters are draining to close to the house and needs to be extended to divert water. 2. Foundation: The dirt around the house needs to be re-graded to prevent water damage to the foundation. Also, Tip-pointing to the foundation around front porch. 3. Windows: Are newer but leaking due to being installed wrong. Some needs replacement and some insulation and casing. 4. Doors: The back door needs to be replaced and trim added to the front door. 5. Insulation: In the attic is piled up and needs to be properly laid out. 6. Roof: The valleys of the roof needs to be re-flashed due to leakage. 7. Attic: A rafter is missing and boards needs to be installed to shore up compromised rafter.

	Project: 009 — Mrs. B Home Repair Urgency: High Est. Cost: $5936.07 1. Roof: The roof needs to be replaced with both shingles and rubber roofing. 2. Flashing: The flashing along the roof rim needs to be redone. 3. Drywall: The water damaged drywall needs to be replaced. 4. Siding: The siding is cracked in a few places and needs to be sealed or replaced.

	Project: 010 — Mrs. M Home Repair Urgency: Medium Est. Cost: $575.70 1. Plaster repair in multiple rooms
