Volunteering

If you love prowling the aisles at Home Depot, enjoy fixing things, or just want to help recycle building materials while supporting adequate housing, the ReStore needs you. Sales, display, cleanup of donations, merchandising and all other "jobs" are completely volunteer efforts. Come join the ReStore team!

The ReStore sells new and used building materials to the public Tuesdays through Saturdays. All sorts of items can be found in our ReStore: paint, interior and exterior doors, windows, cabinets, furniture, lighting fixtures, bathroom fixtures, wood trim, and more!

Volunteers are needed to assist in the store with customers when it is open to the public and to assist in collection of donated materials. We need people to help go on pick up routes to collect the items, help unload, clean and organize the items. Perhaps you know of someone who would like to make a tax deductible donation of materials to the ReStore.

Contact the office for donation pick up information or to find out how to volunteer in the ReStore: 419-382-1964

Deconstruction Volunteers:  Tuesday - Saturday days, depending on sites

Maumee Valley Habitat uses volunteers to help with deconstruction of buildings. We collect usable items from buildings slated for demolition and then sell them in our ReStore. Revenue from these items further Habitat's mission of providing decent, affordable housing to those in need. Items such as cabinets, vanities, lighting fixtures, and hot water heaters are recycled through our deconstruction volunteers who work under the supervision of Chris Henry.

Volunteers are not required to have any previous experience with deconstruction. They are shown proper removal techniques for safety and are guided by MVHFH's ReStore Manager, Chris Henry. Contact Chris Henry for more details on dates when deconstruction will take place: 419-382-1964 or chenry@mvhabitat.org

ReStore Pick Up/Delivery Truck Volunteers    Tuesday through Friday, 8:30am to 1pm (depending on the route).  Volunteers use the Habitat ReStore truck to pick up items donated to the ReStore and deliver items purchased from the ReStore.  If you are interested or have any questions please contact Dan Haller at 419-382-1964 or dhaller@mvhabitat.org
