What is a sponsor?
A sponsor is an organization which commits to fund the expenses connected with the constructing a home and usually provides the labor needed to build the home.
How much will it cost to sponsor a home?
$55,000 for a Habitat home.
What if we can raise only part of the sponsoring amount?
MVHFH has a program where you can sponsor 1/2 of the cost of a home for $27,500. MVHFH will match a partner organization to build the home.

How long will it take?
It generally takes a minimum of 12 - 20 volunteers / day, including partner families, to work three weeks (or 6 to 8 weekends) to construct a Habitat home. This does not include the plumbing, heating, and electrical trades, which are contracted during weekdays.
What assistance does habitat provide the sponsor in constructing a home?
Habitat has a Construction Manager who orders the major materials and handles all the inspections and subcontractors. In addition, Habitat also provides a full-time Site Coach at the construction site to aid the Site Supervisor from the Sponsor in coordinating the day's activities. The Construction Manager and other volunteers from Habitat will meet with the Sponsor's construction committee in advance of construction to give aid in organizing their volunteers.
Who can be a sponsor?
Any organization can be a sponsor, providing they can support 1 / 2 the cost or the entire cost of a home. Providing volunteers, construction, or skilled labor is not required. Churches and coalitions of churches, business and civic organizations have also sponsored homes.

Thousands of families in our community live in inadequate shelters. Your organization can do something about it. As you give, you will receive. Your community will profit as well as the partnering families.
