Building Impact Together

Your Impact In 2018

Letter From Leadership

Dear Friends,

Taking a look back on our 30th anniversary year brings a smile to my face. Building Impact Together. A theme celebrated with our historical supporters, volunteers, faith partners, and friends. I am thrilled with how we demonstrated our positive impact together on affordable housing and our increased visibility in the community.

Our greatest impact will always be with the families we serve. In 2018, our Homeownership and Home Repair programs served 94 families. Five families achieved their dream of homeownership by building or rehabbing a home alongside an army of volunteers.  39 area families partnered with us to help address health and safety related repairs on their homes which included 5 home preservation projects called A Brush With Kindness. Lastly, we completed 50 full roof replacements for area homeowners.

2018 also introduced new approaches to supporting our mission. It started with the Project Playhouse Blitz Build at Fifth Third Field. In honor of our 30 years, 30 excited teams from area organizations built 30 creatively themed playhouses to provide a blessing in children’s lives. ReStore hosted its first annual Summer Bash, highlighting the wonderful work of our unique resale shop as well as diverted over 550 tons of materials from the local landfill. In addition, Rock The Block, one of our key neighborhood revitalization efforts hit a record high in volunteer participation in Birmingham and Harbor View communities.

Let us look back and smile at all the impact we have made in our community over the past 30 years and now set our sights on 2019. We know that we have much work to do in Lucas County and around the world to ensure that everyone has a decent place to live.  With our team, your support, and the tremendous volunteers that continue to work alongside us, we will continue to Build Impact Together.

Thank you!
