Help us help those affected by Hurricane Harvey!
A Message From Habitat For Humanity

Dear Friends of Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity,
So many of you have reached out to us to better understand our response to the hurricane damage and flooding in Texas and Louisiana. The scenes of the devastation are pervasive right now. As I read the statistics yesterday, roughly only 2 of 10 homeowners in Texas carry flood insurance. I can't even imagine how difficult the recovery efforts will be. I also can't imagine what the challenges of recovery will be for lower income families, like many Habitat for Humanity partner families. We know, in most cases, the funds simply aren’t available to rebuild from this disaster and restore their lives.
There are many ways to help families through this disaster, and the response across the country has already been tremendous. Habitat for Humanity has a legacy of helping those most vulnerable through its disaster response units and the rebuilding process that follows. Below, the CEO of Habitat for Humanity International provides remarks about the significant efforts that lie ahead. I invite you to watch this video and consider how you might respond to families in need. Just as Habitat for Humanity rebuilt many lives following Hurricane Katrina, and Superstorm Sandy, it will need your support and prayers to help rebuild after Hurricane Harvey.
Thank you for your prayers and support of those affected,
