Toledo, OH – March 11, 2019 – Owens Corning Platinum Contractors are working with Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity to provide new roofs to veterans in need and their families as part of the Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project.

Joseph Phelps, a retired senior citizen and military veteran, will receive a new roof on Monday March 18th from 4 Guys & A Roof, an Owens Corning Roofing Platinum Contractor. This nationwide effort is a way to show gratitude and honor the veterans who served our country and the families who support them. Since the inception of the Owens Corning National Roof Deployment Project in 2016, more than 100 military members have received new roofs.

“It is our privilege to make the necessary improvements to Mr. Phelps home as he has done so much for our country,” said Jamie Wietrzykowski, Owner of 4 Guys & A Roof. “We want Joseph to have piece of mind knowing that his roof will be properly installed as well as allow him to remain safely in his home for many years to come.”

Owens Corning Roofing and its network of independent Platinum Contractors, along with support from the Owens Corning Foundation, are donating roofing materials and labor to replace roofing shingles on the homes of military veterans and their families throughout the country. Through a partnership with Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity, Joseph Phelps was selected and approved as the recipient for the roof replacement.

"This partnership with Owens Corning will allow Joseph the opportunity to get a new roof that he deserves and so desperately needs,” said Michael McIntyre, Executive Director of Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. “It’s inspiring to see one of our own local companies help the community.”
