Women Build

Women Empowering Women

What is Women Build?

At Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity we understand the impact and upward mobility that homeownership creates, especially for women. In fact, 80% of our homeowners are single female heads of household. Which is why our Women Build is so important – it provides the opportunity for women to help empower other women. Subscribe to our newsletter for updates!

All are invited to join Women Build which runs from August through the end of the year. Women Build is open to all seeking to empower individuals of all ages, zip codes, backgrounds, industries, and skill levels to promote positive, women-led impact.  We tap into the power of community by offering women the opportunity to leverage their strengths, skills, and resources to address the growing housing crisis. Involvement ranges from fundraising to construction. No experience necessary. Join us in partnering with families to build homes for our community.

If you have questions, contact Erin Baker, Development and Engagement Director, at 419-382-1964 ext. 111.

Meet the Homeowner:

Christine envisions a future where she can offer her two boys, Jordin and Jaidyn, the stability of their own home.

"I was born in Toledo and my mom moved to North Carolina when I was three. We've been given a lot of bad breaks and unfortunate situations, so I have decided to move and start over and be better and smarter. Finding a home has been difficult. We are all uncomfortable bouncing around from house to house."

Seeking a safe and stable home, Christine applied for assistance through Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity. Your generous support can make a significant impact, enabling Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity to turn Christine's dream of homeownership into a reality.

Together, we can provide her and her boys with the foundation for a brighter and more secure future.
